PSD to HTML conversion is frequently outsourced by web designers and developers, who are short on time. There are a lot of dot coms offering such coding services, and from a designer’s perspective it can be difficult to select the most professional one. I recently tried out XHTMLGenius, and I thought it would be useful to review their services here. I’ll cover my experience of working with them, their level of communication and code quality.
To get the process started with XHTMLGenius, you first fill out the order form, attach a layered PSD or PNG file and add some notes about your project. The form is incredibly simple and straightforward. You specify the number of pages and delivery time. That’s it! They have only one PSD to HTML package, which includes the following features: W3C Valid XHTML 1.0 Strict, W3C Valid and optimized CSS 2.1 Tableless markup, Load Speed optimization, Search Engine Compatibility, Commented HTML/CSS, Compatible with Internet Explorer 7+, Firefox 5+, Google Chrome, Safari 5+ and Opera 11+
I’ve submitted the following design file. It was a simple template, which was great to try out at XHTMLGenius.
Within about 30 minutes or less of submitting the form, I got an email from XHTMLGenius with a few questions on some details. The communication was prompt, professional and it covered everything necessary. Once all my requirements were clarified, XHTMLGenius team gave me the estimated time of delivery. They promised a 3 day turnaround, but completed the project ahead of schedule, in fact.
I was pleased at how smoothly the process went. The quality of code was just as I’ve expected, the CSS was clean and well organized. Just check it out:
Take a look at the examples of their work to see more of the projects they have completed. Overall I was very pleased with the service I received from XHTMLGenius.
