For Iceberg’s Spring 2011 collection, Paolo Gerani and his new design team are creating their own spin on the glamorous 70’s which every designer seems to be channeling for the season. Iceberg’s take is less over the top glam and more down to earth with masculine elements.Gerani presents a versatile collection full of unique pieces that will add life to anyone’s Spring wardrobe. Though overtly retro, his use of denim is refreshing on tulip skirts and a fun anorak dress. A multitude of dress styles are shown including printed strapless maxi dresses, safari-inspired shirtdresses and minidresses constructed from macramé and feathers. Cropped trousers and tailored shorts are shown a number of times for an easy relaxed look and though there are masculine elements, there is surely enough skin shown with bikini tops and thigh-high slits.
I haven’t worn anything Iceberg-related since high school, but I must say the Spring 2011 collection is truly spurring me to buy and add some Iceberg pieces back into my wardrobe.
