Zaha Hadid, the first female that has won a Pritzker Architecture Prize and winner of the 2010 Stirling Prize, has given one more of her works to the world, the Guangzhou Opera House, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects. It is a building with innovative design, cutting-edge technology and the distinctive characteristics of all Hadid’s buildings.The basic axis of the design was the idea of a landscape, inspired by the valleys of the rivers, and how erosion is causing them to change shape.In the inside of the main hall of the opera house Hadid used GFRC (glass-fibre reinforced gypsum). The hall is studied with the latest sound methods and has the most modern technology. It can accommodate 1800 spectators, while the foyer of the opera is designed as a multifunctional space for performances and events for over 400 spectators.
