Sustainable offices can come in all shapes and sizes and they can be great example for future companies that needs to stay in touch with the reality of global warming. A company named Eneco has recently build its new headquarters in Rotterdam and the result is a Beautiful and Sustainable Headquarters. Hofman Dujardin Architects and Fokkema & Partners have worked together in order to design this 25000 square meter structure. The headquarters uses solar power but also natural light and interior greenery which gives fresh oxygen 24/7 to all the employees working there. The building welcomes more than 2100 workers and it has 14 floors including workspaces, meeting rooms, espresso bars and restaurants.
Fokkema & Parthers is often asked to descried the firm’s chief characteristics. Just naming a single style doesn’t serve to answer this question, since the projects vary so widely. Still, since the start of the firm in 1995 all projects have had one thing in common which is drive for quality that exceeds their client’s expectations. It’s their ambition to get the most out of a design question on their client’s behalf a thorough process that starts in understanding client needs through carefully and methodically trying to come to the core of the matter. They encourage their clients to come up with considerations and critical questions during the concept development phase. Fokkema & Parthers feel that concept development really is one of the most important phases of the design process, a stage with a clear moment , when the true nature of the solution is determined . It is a phase when out of the box thinking , sharp analysis and down to earth practicality all come together in their effort to constantly raise the bar. During the net phase of design development they keep utilizing their creative capacities ti find solutions which stay away from the obvious but still remain practical. At the end of the day they like to be inspired and have fun but most importantly they want their client to be proud of the common result.
