Jason Punches is one of the founding partners in the design team Tag Collective.Jason started his career with positions at Futurebrand and Yard, where he worked ona range of design projects from identity to advertising. Jason’s goals however, were to challenge the traditional role of designers and elevate the experiences theseopportunities offered. With this in mind he transitioned to the strategic firm Redscout, where he was involved in bringing innovative ideas to life in new refreshing ways — aiming to build creative solutions from start to finish, from idea to execution. By taking brand and consumer insights and transforming them into actionable design deliverables, Jason was able to work on a variety of experiences that ranged from brand positioning to introducing new products to the market.
Jason and Becca met in design school in 2003, where they first set their goal of creatinga studio in New York City. Self-described “small-town kids”, they both grew up in Michigan and each exemplify the classic mid-western work ethic. After graduating from college, they headed east, and although they had what sounded like simple intentions, they were set on producing epic results. Tag Collective is the realization of their goal.
Becca Eley Co-founder of Tag Collective, Becca Eley started her career at leading branding firm Futurebrand and most notably created the McGladrey identity. Switching gears a bit, she moved to a small boutique studio in Chelsea, which specialized in branding for luxury clients. There, she broadened her capabilities to web, creating a Webby award-winning site and new identity for textile maker DwellStudio. An even more unique extension of traditional branding came in the development of a vending machine for Morgans Hotel Group. With a knack for bypassing the typical expectations and limitations of the branding world, Becca was later asked to join the international team at Desgrippes Gobe. There she worked with global luxury brands, helping shape the new world forming in Doha, Qatar and working with international clients such as Absolut Vodka, Pepsi and LVMH.
